Football Game Preview: Sumner Academy Sabres vs. Schlagle Stallions

The Sumner Academy Sabres will face off against the Schlagle Stallions at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.

As a matter of fact, Sumner Academy put up the most points they have all season on Friday. They blew past Wyandotte 56-14. The win continues a trend for the Sabres in their matchups with the Bulldogs: they've now won five in a row.

Meanwhile, Schlagle came up short against Atchison on Friday and fell 69-62. The defeat continues a trend for the Stallions in their meetings with the Phoenix: they've now lost five in a row.

Sumner Academy's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-3. As for Schlagle, their loss dropped their record down to an identical 1-3.

Sumner Academy was able to grind out a solid win over Schlagle in their previous matchup back in October of 2024, winning 20-8. Will the Sabres repeat their success, or do the Stallions have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
