Softball Game Preview: Jarrell Cougars vs. Shoemaker Wolves

The Jarrell Cougars will venture away from home to face off against the Shoemaker Wolves at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Jarrell will be strutting in after a victory while Shoemaker will be coming in after a defeat.

On Thursday, Jarrell made easy work of Manor and carried off a 16-3 win.

Meanwhile, Shoemaker might've scored the first runs on Friday, but it was Gateway College Preparatory who claimed the real prize. The Wolves fell just short of the Gators by a score of 4-2. The Wolves haven't had much luck with the Gators recently, as the team has come up short the last four times they've met.

Kale Clawson spent all six innings played on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered four runs (all of which were unearned) on three hits and racked up 12 Ks.

At the plate, Diana Samuelu-Pedro was cooking despite her team's loss, getting on base in all three of her plate appearances with one home run and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Taylor McClinton, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one triple, one stolen base, and one run.

Jarrell suffered a grim 8-0 defeat to Shoemaker in their previous matchup back in February of 2025. Can the Cougars avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
