Basketball Game Preview: Scotts Valley Falcons vs. Cupertino Pioneers

The Scotts Valley Falcons are taking a road trip to take on the Cupertino Pioneers at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Scotts Valley saw some tournament action back in December of 2024. They fell to Prospect 48-43. The Falcons have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Despite their loss, Scotts Valley saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Brooklyn Williams, who posted 14 points and three steals, was perhaps the best of all. Williams has been hot, having posted two or more steals the last five times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Hanna Shehorn, who earned 13 points.

Meanwhile, Cupertino lost to Hillsdale at home by a 46-31 margin on Tuesday. While losing is never fun, the Pioneers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 620th, while the FIGHTING KNIGHTS are ranked 171st).

Scotts Valley's record is now 5-2. As for Cupertino, their record is now 2-4.
