Softball Game Preview: Northglenn Norsemen vs. Monarch Coyotes

The Northglenn Norsemen will face off against the Monarch Coyotes at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Northglenn is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.4 runs per game this season.

While Northglenn's victory against Mountain Range wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Norsemen sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 6-4 win over the Mustangs on Tuesday. The victory continues a trend for the Norsemen in their matchups with the Mustangs: they've now won four in a row.

Northglenn let Brooklynn Hendrick and Claire Wolford run wild. Hendrick went 2-for-4 with two doubles, two RBI, and one run, while Wolford went 2-for-4 with one triple, one stolen base, and one run. Ary Samaniego was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two runs and one stolen base.

Meanwhile, Monarch was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat. They lost 15-2 to Legacy.

Kate Church made the most of her time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one double, and one RBI.

Northglenn's win bumped their record up to 9-12. As for Monarch, their loss dropped their record down to 8-13.

Northglenn was able to grind out a solid victory over Monarch in their previous meeting back in October of 2024, winning 5-2. Do the Norsemen have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Coyotes turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
