Basketball Game Preview: Highland Scots vs. Bakersfield Drillers

Highland hasn't had much luck against Bakersfield recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. Having just played yesterday, the Highland Scots will get right back to it and host the Bakersfield Drillers at 6:30 p.m. Bakersfield took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on Highland, who comes in off a win.

Having struggled with five defeats in a row, Highland turned things around against Garces Memorial on Monday. They snuck past the Rams with a 38-34 victory.

Meanwhile, Bakersfield was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They lost to Independence at home by a 45-30 margin.

Highland will need focus on slowing down Janayah Meeks, one of several Bakersfield players who made an impact when they last played. She posted seven points and 17 boards. Those 17 rebounds gave Meeks a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Natalya Robinson, who had four points.

Bakersfield's defeat dropped their record down to 9-8. As for Highland, their win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 8-12.
