Football Game Preview: Sun Valley Spartans vs. Weddington Warriors + How To Watch

Sun Valley is 0-10 against Weddington since October of 2016 but things could change on Friday. The Spartans will square off against the Warriors at 7:00 p.m. After the two teams made easy work of their previous opponents, one won't be so lucky on Friday.

If Weddington heads into halftime all tied up, they better play a good second half: that's when Sun Valley took over last week. The Spartans put the hurt on Monroe with a sharp 28-7 win two weeks ago. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Spartans.

Aden Haskins had an outrageously good game as he rushed for 152 yards and two touchdowns.

Meanwhile, Weddington faced Charlotte Catholic in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Friday. The Warriors took their game with ease, bagging a 42-7 victory over the Cougars. The Warriors' offense checked out after the first half but had enough points banked to take the game anyway.

Weddington's win bumped their record up to 4-1. As for Sun Valley, the victory got them back to even at 2-2.

Sun Valley suffered a grim 35-12 defeat to Weddington in their previous meeting back in November of 2024. Can the Spartans avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
