The Sun Valley Spartans football squad (Monroe, NC), was outscored 21-6 in Friday's league contest with the host Weddington Warriors (Matthews, NC)

The Warriors (5-1) will now prepare for their contest against Marvin Ridge (Waxhaw, NC). The Mavericks enter the Southern Carolina 6A/7A contest with a 3-2 record. In their last contest, Marvin Ridge thwarted Piedmont (Monroe, NC), 13-7, in a league contest.

Coming up next, the Spartans confront the Cuthbertson Cavaliers (Waxhaw, NC) in a Southern Carolina 6A/7A contest, on Friday, October 3. Sun Valley will attempt to upgrade on its 2-3 season record. The Cavaliers enter the contest with a 3-3 record after their 23-8 league win over Piedmont (Monroe, NC).
