North Carolina High School Football - Marvin Ridge falls to Sun Valley

October 24, 2025: Monroe, NC 28110

The Sun Valley Spartans felled the visiting Marvin Ridge Mavericks football team by a score of 30-7 in Friday's league challenge.

In their next game, the Spartans face the Porter Ridge Pirates (Indian Trail, NC) in a Southern Carolina 6A/7A challenge, on Friday, October 31. Sun Valley will attempt to improve on its 6-3 season record. The Pirates go into the challenge with a 6-3 record after their 42-0 league loss to Weddington (Matthews, NC).

The Mavericks (4-5) will now prepare for their challenge against Cuthbertson (Waxhaw, NC). The Cavaliers go into the Southern Carolina 6A/7A challenge with a 3-6 record. In their last challenge, Cuthbertson lost by Charlotte Catholic (Charlotte, NC), 28-14, in a league challenge.
