Soccer Game Preview: Ironwood Ridge vs. Douglas

The Ironwood Ridge Nighthawks will challenge the Douglas Bulldogs at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday.

Ironwood Ridge is probably headed into the matchup with a chip on their shoulder considering Mountain View just ended the team's four-game winning streak on Wednesday. Neither they nor the Mountain Lions could gain the upper hand so the two teams had to settle for a 2-2 draw. The result kept the Nighthawks happy, as they haven't lost a game since December 5, 2024.

Meanwhile, Wednesday just wasn't the day for Douglas' offense. They took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of Buena back in December of 2024.

Douglas' defeat dropped their record down to 5-4-2. Ironwood Ridge's draw makes their record 5-1-1 this season.

Ironwood Ridge was able to grind out a solid victory over Douglas when the teams last played back in November of 2018, winning 3-1. Will Ironwood Ridge repeat their success, or does Douglas have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
