Softball Recap: Westover Takes a Loss

After flying high against Sumter County on Wednesday, Westover came back down to earth. The Patriots fell just short of the Valdosta Wildcats by a score of 6-4 on Saturday. The contest marked the Patriots' lowest-scoring matchup so far this season.

Savannah Donaldson made the most of her time in the batter's box despite the final result and went a perfect 3-for-3 with three stolen bases, one run, and one RBI. She has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times she's played. Sydney Donaldson was another key player, going 1-for-2 with two stolen bases and one run.

Westover now has a losing record of 2-3. As for Valdosta, the win got them back to even at 2-2.

Coming up, Westover will be playing at home against Hardaway at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Valdosta, they will host Bainbridge at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday.
