Recap: North Monterey County Condors vs. King City Mustangs
The North Monterey County Condors waltzed into their game on Friday with four straight wins but they left with five. They enjoyed a cozy 48-33 victory over King City. That's another feather in the cap for North Monterey County, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
Despite the defeat, King City had strong showings from Malaya Carrillo, who scored 21 points along with five rebounds and three steals, and Mikayla Mclane, who scored eight points along with seven rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Amity Hearne, who scored a point along with 11 rebounds and two steals.
North Monterey County's win was their eighth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 14-6. As for King City, they have not been sharp recently as the team's lost four of their last five contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-15 record this season.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. North Monterey County will take on St. Francis at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. St. Francis will roll in looking for their 13th straight win, something North Monterey County surely won't give up without a fight. As for King City, they will be playing at home against Marina at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. King City is facing Marina at the right time seeing as Marina is stuck on a three-game losing streak.
