Centennial is 6-0-1 against Rantoul since October of 2017 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Saturday. The Chargers are taking a road trip to square off against the Eagles at 10:00 a.m. Centennial's offense has struggled lately (the team hasn't scored more than a single goal for four straight games), a trend the team is no doubt ready to end.

Centennial lost 9-1 to Peoria Notre Dame on Thursday. While losing is never fun, Centennial can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois soccer rankings (they are ranked 191st, while Peoria Notre Dame are ranked 29th).

Centennial's goal came courtesy of Ryan Callejas-Perez, who's now up to four this season.

Meanwhile, after soaring to four goals the game before, Rantoul was a bit more limited in their match on Wednesday. They came up short against Champaign Central, falling 8-1. The defeat continues a trend for Rantoul in their meetings with Champaign Central: they've now lost nine in a row.

Rantoul's loss dropped their record down to 6-12-1. As for Centennial, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-9-3.

Everything went Centennial's way against Rantoul when the teams last played back in October of 2024, as Centennial made off with a 7-1 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Chargers since the squad won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
