Football Game Preview: Cienega Bobcats vs. Sunnyslope Vikings + Official Tickets

The Cienega Bobcats are taking a road trip to square off against the Sunnyslope Vikings at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams are strolling into their games after big wins in their previous games.

On Friday, Cienega got the win against Maricopa by a conclusive 41-19. Considering the Bobcats have won four contests by more than 19 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Cienega got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Jalen Horn out in front who rushed for 91 yards and one score, and also picked up 83 receiving yards and one TD. Horn really caught the secondary sleeping when he pulled down a catch that went for 77 yards. Ayden Billings was in the mix as well, providing Cienega with two touchdowns.

On the other side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to Cienega's defense and their three sacks. Andrei Davis-Lopez refused to say out of the backfield, picking up three sacks all by himself.

Meanwhile, Sunnyslope came tearing into Friday's matchup with four straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 43.8 points), and they left with even more momentum. They blew past the Chargers 28-7. The Vikings are also no stranger to big wins: their blowout was the seventh game they've won by 20+ points this season.

Cienega better focus on containing Kelton Rogers and Royce Vanacore as the pair were huge in Sunnyslope's win. Rogers rushed for 121 yards and a pair of scores while picking up 7.1 yards per carry, while Vanacore rushed for 43 yards and a pair of TDs. What's more, Vanacore posted two rushing touchdowns, the most he's had since back in September of 2024.

Cienega's record now sits at 6-4. As for Sunnyslope, their record is now 8-2.

Cienega came out on top in a nail-biter against Sunnyslope in their previous matchup back in November of 2019, sneaking past 27-24. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Bobcats since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
