Pitman is 10-0 against Downey since January of 2020 and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Thursday. The Pitman Pride will host the Downey Knights at 7:00 p.m. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Pitman is headed into the game out to prove that what happened against Gregori on Tuesday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. Pitman had to suffer through a 61-23 loss at the hands of Gregori. The contest marked the Pride's lowest-scoring matchup so far this season.

Miley Zamora put forth a good effort for the losing side as she posted six points.

Even though they lost, Pitman smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with ten offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least ten offensive boards in four consecutive games.

Meanwhile, Downey suffered their biggest loss since December 16, 2024 on Tuesday. They lost 50-30 to Enochs. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Knights have suffered against the Eagles since April 21, 2021.

Downey dropped their record down to 9-10 with the loss, which was their third straight on the road. As for Pitman, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-13.

Pitman was able to grind out a solid victory over Downey in their previous matchup two weeks ago, winning 39-27. Will Pitman repeat their success, or does Downey have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
