Softball Recap: Independence Comes Up Short

Independence suffered their closest loss since June 21st on Tuesday. They fell just short of the Grinnell Tigers by a score of 5-3. The Mustangs have struggled against the Tigers recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost meeting.

Independence's defeat dropped their record down to 9-23. As for Grinnell, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 26-5 record this season.

Independence has already played their next game, a 14-4 win against South Tama County on the 2nd. As for Grinnell, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next contest, an 8-3 loss against Williamsburg on the 2nd.
