Softball Recap: Mt. Zion Turns Things Around After Road Loss

There's no place like home for Mt. Zion, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Wednesday. They put the hurt on the Stephenson Jaguars with a sharp 15-2 victory on Thursday. The Bulldogs haven't had any issues with the Jaguars recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive win against them.

Saniyah Jones was a standout: she went a perfect 2-for-2 with six stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Sanai Grace, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with three stolen bases, two runs, and one triple.

Mt. Zion always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .800. That was just more of the same: they've now posted an OBP of .520 or higher in eight consecutive contests.

Mt. Zion's record now sits at 8-5. As for Stephenson, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-9 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-region action coming up soon. Mt. Zion will square off against rival Riverdale at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Stephenson is set to face off against their familiar foe Stone Mountain at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
