Basketball Recap: 11 Straight Home Wins for Rosamond

With a playoff win on the line, Rosamond rose to the challenge on Thursday. They took down the Gabrielino Eagles 44-26. Given the Roadrunners' advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 184th, while the Eagles are ranked 449th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Rosamond to victory, but perhaps none more so than Kiley Perez, who posted 18 points along with eight rebounds and four steals. Perez has been hot for a while, having also posted two or more blocks the last nine times she's played. Ariel Cain was another key player, putting up eight points in addition to 15 boards and three blocks.

Rosamond pushed their record up to 27-7 with the win, which was their 11th straight at home. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 33 points. As for Gabrielino, their loss ended a nine-game streak of away wins and brought them to 19-11.

Rosamond has already played their next game, a 59-50 victory against St. Pius X-St. Matthias Academy on the 8th. Gabrielino does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
