Baseball Recap: South Beloit Sobos vs. Harvest-Westminster Warriors
South Beloit had lost three straight on the road, but on Tuesday they dropped down to 5-7-1 to make it four. They came up short against the Harvest-Westminster Warriors, falling 11-0. The Sobos were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Warriors apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in April of 2025.
As for Harvest-Westminster, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-4 record this season. Considering they have won 11 games by more than five runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.
For Harvest-Westminster's part, Luke Bartolome made a big impact no matter where he played. He kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out ten over five innings pitched. Those ten strikeouts gave Bartolome a new career-high. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.
In other batting news, Ryan St. Louis was incredible, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI. Another player making a difference was Brian Powers, who went 2-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and two doubles.
Coming up, Harvest-Westminster will face off against Lakes at 4:45 p.m. on Wednesday. South Beloit will be paying especially close attention to the Warriors' contest: after the Warriors face off against the Eagles, they'll take on South Beloit again at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
