Softball Recap: Aquinas Comes Up Short on the Road Against Wilber-Clatonia

Aquinas kicked off their season on the road on Thursday and hit a couple of potholes. They fell 10-6 to the Wilber-Clatonia Wolverines. The Monarchs were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Wolverines apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in August of 2024.

Faith Samek made the most of her time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with three RBI, two doubles, and one run. Ainsley Wollmer was another key player, going 1-for-2 with one run and one RBI.

The win got Wilber-Clatonia back to even at 1-1.

Aquinas didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next match, a 12-3 victory against Raymond Central on the 21st. As for Wilber-Clatonia, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next game, a 6-4 win against St. Paul on the 23rd.
