Etowah faced Blessed Trinity in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Wednesday. The Eagles' pitchers stepped up to hand the Titans an 8-0 shutout. Considering the Eagles have won 18 matches by more than five runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.

Etowah is on a roll lately: they've won 19 of their last 20 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 27-2 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.7 runs on average over those games. As for Blessed Trinity, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 22-7.

Looking ahead, Etowah will square off against Hillgrove at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Hawks will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something the Eagles surely won't give up without a fight. Blessed Trinity does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
