Softball Recap: Horizon Comes Up Short

Horizon lost against Arvada West back in August and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Hawks fell just short of the Wildcats by a score of 4-3. The Hawks have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Kaiya Barela spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and three unearned) runs on five hits and racked up six Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in 17 consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Regan Glaza was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-3 with two runs and one stolen base. The team also got some help courtesy of Tessa Munsch, who went 1-for-3 with three RBI.

Horizon's loss dropped their record down to 16-8. As for Arvada West, their victory bumped their record up to 15-8.

As of now, neither Horizon nor the Wildcats have any future games scheduled.
