Basketball Recap: Live Oak's Victory on Saturday Extends Winning Streak to Three

Live Oak extended their winning streak to three games thanks to a huge performance from Kat Clement. The Live Oak Acorns took down the Aptos Mariners 39-20 on Saturday thanks in part to Clement, who almost dropped a double-double with 21 points and nine rebounds. That makes it three consecutive games in which she has scored at least a third of Live Oak's points.

Aptos' defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Berkeley Ashby, who posted 13 points along with six boards and three steals, and Eliya Chavez, who scored seven points. That was a full 65% of Aptos' points, marking the third time in a row Ashby has had more than a third of the team's points.

Live Oak's win bumped their record up to 20-7. As for Aptos, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 14-13 record this season.

Live Oak didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 52-40 loss against Notre Dame on the 25th. Aptos does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
