Basketball Recap: Bryce Rollerson Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat Pennington

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Blair Academy, Academy of the New Church was happy to have turned things around on Friday. They were the clear victors by an 84-58 margin over the Pennington Red Hawks. The victory continues a trend for the Lions in their matchups with the Red Hawks: they've now won three in a row.

Academy of the New Church got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Bryce Rollerson out in front who went 11-for-15 on his way to 31 points. Those 31 points gave Rollerson a new career-high. Cameron Smith was another key player, shooting 63% from the field en route to 25 points and eight rebounds.

The victory got Academy of the New Church back to even at 1-1.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming matchups. Academy of the New Church won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Archbishop Ryan at 6:30 p.m. on Saturday. As for Pennington, they will head out to take on Paul VI at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
