Grovetown found a leader in Josalyn Sergent as the squad took down Newton on Monday. Sergent wasn't messing around, not allowing a single earned run while striking out six over five innings pitched. The pitching appearance was her fourth straight with two or fewer walks.

Sergent's strong effort led Grovetown over Newton and she'll get a chance to do so again: the teams have a rematch scheduled at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. The Warriors are a perfect 5-0 against the Rams going back to August of 2024, a lead they'll look to extend.
