Baseball Game Preview: Manassas Park Cougars vs. Skyline Hawks

Manassas Park hasn't had much luck against Skyline recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Cougars will head out to challenge the Hawks at 6:00 p.m. Manassas Park has given up an average of 16 runs per game this season, but Tuesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Fans were treated to a battle of the Cougars on Friday. Manassas Park came up short against Kettle Run, falling 12-1.

Meanwhile, Skyline owes their pitching crew a big pat on the back after their performance on Monday. They skirted past Meridian 1-0. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Hawks have posted since April 7th.

Cohen Racer tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run while striking out eight over 6.2 innings pitched. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Skyline is 4-1 when he allows at most one earned run, but 3-12 otherwise.

The victory made it two in a row for Skyline and bumps their season record up to 7-13. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 2 run in those games. As for Manassas Park, their loss dropped their record down to 3-17.

Manassas Park might still be hurting after the 21-2 defeat they got from Skyline in their previous meeting back in April. Can the Cougars avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
