Softball Recap: Newkirk Snaps Four-Game Streak of Wins on the Road

Saturday just wasn't the day for Newkirk's offense. They lost 12-0 to the Enid Plainsmen on Saturday. Having soared to a lofty 15 runs in the game before, the Tigers' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

Newkirk's defeat ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 4-2. As for Enid, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-2 record this season.

Newkirk will venture away from home to take on Frontier at 6:15 p.m. on Tuesday. The Mustangs will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each match than the last. As for Enid, they wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next game, a 4-1 victory against Morrison on the 23rd.
