Basketball Game Preview: Arvin Bears vs. Bishop Union Broncos

Two dominant guards in Kimberly Ochoa and Kristin Allen are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. The Arvin Bears will finish 2024 at home by hosting the Bishop Union Broncos at 12:00 p.m. on Thursday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.

Arvin is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They snuck past Bakersfield with a 55-49 victory last Saturday.

Arvin found their leader in freshman Melina Gracia, who went 6 for 15 on her way to 17 points in addition to seven rebounds and six steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Gracia has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Ochoa, who posted nine points along with seven steals and five assists.

Meanwhile, Bishop Union was fully in charge on Friday, breezing past Mammoth 63-12. The Broncos have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won six matchups by 28 points or more this season.

The win made it two in a row for Bishop Union and bumps their season record up to 7-1. As for Arvin, their victory bumped their record up to 5-8.
