Basketball Recap: Penn Hills Comes Up Short

Penn Hills was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss. They were four points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 45-41 heartbreaker at the hands of the McKeesport Tigers. The Indians lost against the Tigers in their previous head to head back in February of 2023, too, but the margin this time around was much closer than the 62-29 score last time.

Penn Hills' defeat dropped their record down to 1-11. As for McKeesport, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a massive bump to their 4-5 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Penn Hills will take on Gateway at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Penn Hills is facing Gateway at the right time seeing as Gateway is stuck on an eight-game losing streak. As for McKeesport, they will challenge Kiski Area at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
