Football Recap: Chaparral Takes a Loss

Chaparral is still winless after their game against Valley on Friday, but the team can take solace in the fact it was the closest they've come to winning. They were three points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 19-16 heartbreaker at the hands of the Vikings. The Cowboys were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Vikings apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in October of 2024.

Chaparral's loss dropped their record down to 0-6. As for Valley, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 4-2.

Chaparral will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Pinecrest Academy Sloan Canyon at 6:00 p.m. on October 10. As for Valley, they will venture away from home to square off against Spring Valley at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The Vikings will be up against the Grizzlies' rather soft defense (which has allowed 30.2 points per contest), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
