Softball Recap: Piedmont Takes a Loss

The home team had come away the winner the last three times Piedmont and Enid had met, but sadly for the fans who attended this one that wasn't the case. The Wildcats lost 9-2 to the Plainsmen on Monday. The Wildcats were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Plainsmen apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in September of 2022.

Piedmont's loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 4-2. As for Enid, their victory bumped their record up to 5-1.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Piedmont will take on Jenks at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Wildcats 3.8, the Trojans 3.8) so any runs scored will be well earned. As for Enid, they will face off against Alva at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
