Basketball Recap: Brianna Jackson's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Conwell-Egan Catholic over Downingtown East

Conwell-Egan Catholic was not able to break out of their rough patch on Sunday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They were six points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 48-42 heartbreaker at the hands of the Downingtown East Cougars. While losing is never fun, the Eagles can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 275th, while the Cougars are ranked 29th).

Conwell-Egan Catholic lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Brianna Jackson, who went 8 of 14 en route to 20 points and five steals. Jackson is crushing it when it comes to steals: she's grabbed at least two every time she's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Lily Milewski, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and ten rebounds.

Conwell-Egan Catholic's defeat dropped their record down to 3-7. As for Downingtown East, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 9-1.

Conwell-Egan Catholic will venture away from home to take on Archbishop Ryan at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Downingtown East, they will take on Central Bucks East at 12:15 p.m. on Saturday.
