Clarkston faced Wheeler in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Tuesday. The Angoras sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 2-1 win over the Wildcats. This was a revenge game for the Angoras: when they faced off against the Wildcats back in March, they had to take a 2-0 defeat.

It was an exciting match in which no team won back-to-back sets, but at the end of the day Clarkston got the one that really mattered. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-23, 22-23, 15-13.

Emmanuel Lwanuna paced Clarkston's offense, picking up nine kills. Lwanuna got some help from Lucas Williams and his 19 assists.

Clarkston has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-3 record this season. Having lost for the first time this season, Wheeler fell to 7-1.

Clarkston and Wheeler will both get a bit of extra prep time before their next contests. The next time the Angoras see the court they'll take on Chattahoochee at 5:30 p.m. on the 15th. As for Wheeler, their break will end when they face Allatoona at 5:30 p.m. on the 15th.
