Softball Recap: Alcovy Takes a Loss

Alcovy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss. They came up short against the Habersham Central Raiders, falling 9-2. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Raiders this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 13-8 on September 4th.

Destiny Floyd was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-3 with two doubles and one RBI. Ra'Niya Smith was another key player, getting on base in two of her four plate appearances with one stolen base and one run.

Alcovy's defeat dropped their record down to 2-20. As for Habersham Central, their victory bumped their record up to 6-12.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Alcovy will welcome Jackson County at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Habersham Central, they will look to defend their home field on Thursday against Commerce at 5:00 p.m.
