Football Game Preview: San Gabriel Matadors vs. Schurr Spartans

San Gabriel hasn't had much luck against Schurr recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. After each having a week off, the two teams will shake off the cobwebs and hit the field against one another at 7:00 p.m. San Gabriel will come into the game with an undefeated record on the line.

Last Friday, San Gabriel was able to grind out a solid victory over Artesia, taking the game 34-22.

San Gabriel can attribute much of their success to Noah Osorio, who threw for 128 yards and two TDs, and Adam Mascorro, who gained 67 total yards and two touchdowns.

Meanwhile, Schurr came up short against Bonita last Friday and fell 14-7.

San Gabriel's win bumped their record up to 5-0. As for Schurr, they now have a losing record of 2-3.

San Gabriel took a serious blow against Schurr in their previous matchup back in October of 2024, falling 53-0. Thankfully for the Matadors, Elias Navarro (who rushed for 124 yards and three touchdowns on only 11 carries) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result?
