Volleyball Recap: Hondo Valley Comes Up Short on the Road Against Elida

Hondo Valley kicked off their season on the road on Thursday and hit a couple of potholes. They lost 3-0 to the Elida Tigers. The Eagles have struggled against the Tigers recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive lost matchup.

While Hondo Valley was kept off the board, it wasn't for a lack of trying: they cut into Elida's winning margin in every set. The match finished with set scores of 25-6, 25-7, 25-17.

Elida's victory was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 5-0.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Hondo Valley will look to takes advantage of their home court for the first time this season as they takes on New Mexico Military Institute at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Elida, they will welcome Grady at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
