Baseball Recap: Grovetown Gets the Win

Grovetown's game last Tuesday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Wednesday. They skirted past the Lakeside Panthers 5-4. This was a revenge game for the Warriors: when they faced off against the Panthers last Wednesday, they had to take a 5-3 loss.

Boston Rowan made a splash while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing one inning while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Rowan was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run and stealing four bases while going 1-for-3. Those stolen bases were his first of the season.

In other batting news, Brody Combs was excellent, scoring two runs while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. He also brought in an RBI, marking his first of the season. Jake Maldonado was another key player, scoring a run while going 3-for-4.

Grovetown's victory bumped their record up to 2-3. As for Lakeside, their defeat was their first of the season and makes their record 2-1.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Grovetown will take on Evans at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Lakeside, they will look to defend their home field on Monday against Thomson at 5:30 p.m.
