Basketball Recap: Mt. Eden Comes Up Short

Mt. Eden was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat dating back to last season. They had to suffer through a 66-35 loss at the hands of the Leland Chargers. The Monarchs were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 37-13.

Leland's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Venice Lu, who went 5 of 7 en route to 13 points along with seven boards and five assists. The team also got some help courtesy of Stephanie Lu, who went 5 of 10 on her way to 13 points and six steals.

Mt. Eden's loss dropped their record down to 0-4. As for Leland, their record now sits at 4-7.

Mt. Eden will venture away from home to challenge San Leandro at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Leland, they will welcome Evergreen Valley at 7:00 p.m. on January 7th.
