Softball Game Preview: Madison County Red Raiders vs. Perry Panthers

The Madison County Red Raiders are taking a road trip to face off against the Perry Panthers at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Madison County will aim to continue their four-game streak of scoring more runs each game than the last.

Madison County had to skate by with only a two-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the seven-run drubbing they dealt Social Circle on Thursday. The Red Raiders blew past the Redskins 10-3. The Red Raiders not only won on Thursday, but they posted their biggest win since September 18th (when they won 19-0).

Meanwhile, after only two runs in their last contest, Perry made sure to put some runs up on the board against Taylor County on Thursday. The Panthers sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with an 11-10 victory over the Vikings. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Panthers have posted since August 22, 2024.

Madison County's victory bumped their record up to 13-16. As for Perry, with the win, they broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 8-12.

Madison County took their victory against Perry when the teams last played back in October of 2017 by a conclusive 18-2 score. Will the Red Raiders repeat their success, or do the Panthers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
