Football Game Preview: Horton Chargers vs. Doniphan West Mustangs + How To Watch

The Horton Chargers will head out to challenge the Doniphan West Mustangs at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Horton is looking for their season's first win.

For whatever reason, it's the away team that's had the advantage when Horton and Maur Hill Prep-Mount Academy meet (four straight games heading into this one) and that held true again on Friday. The Chargers took a hard 34-20 fall against the Ravens. On the bright side, the 20- point performance marked the Chargers' highest-scoring contest to date.

Meanwhile, Friday just wasn't the day for Doniphan West's offense. They were outmatched by Riverside [Wathena/Elwood] and fell 37-0. The Mustangs have struggled against the Cyclones recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost matchup.

Doniphan West's defeat dropped their record down to 1-6. As for Horton, their loss dropped their record down to 0-7.

Everything came up roses for Horton against Doniphan West when the teams last played back in October of 2024, as the squad secured a 60-20 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Chargers since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
