Basketball Recap: Galeton Tigers vs. Port Allegany Gators
Galeton was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their 42nd straight loss dating back to last season. They had to suffer through a 56-12 loss at the hands of the Port Allegany Gators. While losing is never fun, the Tigers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 721st, while the Gators are ranked 221st).
Lynlee Basile was Galeton's leading scorer, having posted 12 points. Brielle Lehman held things down on the boards with 11 rebounds.
Ella Moses was her usual excellent self, going 6 for 13 en route to 13 points along with seven rebounds and four steals for Port Allegany. Moses is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last 12 games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Brieanna Daniels, who posted six points in addition to six boards and three blocks.
Galeton's defeat dropped their record down to 0-21. As for Port Allegany, they pushed their record up to 16-4 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home.
Looking ahead, a feisty cat fight will be fought when the Tigers face off against the Panthers at 7:15 p.m. on Monday. As for Port Allegany, they will square off against Austin at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
