Preview: Brockway Rovers vs. Curwensville Golden Tide
Brockway is 9-1 against Curwensville since February of 2018, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Monday. The Brockway Rovers will be home for the holidays to greet the Curwensville Golden Tide at 12:00 p.m. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.
Last Wednesday, Brockway suffered a rough 56-36 defeat at the hands of DuBois Central Catholic. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Brockway in their matchups with DuBois Central Catholic: they've now lost six in a row.
Brockway's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Sophia Schmader, who scored 11 points along with seven rebounds and five steals, and Rheanna Spinda who scored 11 points along with three steals. Those 11 points set a new season-high mark for her.
Meanwhile, Curwensville's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their 19th straight loss dating back to last season. They were beaten by Williamsburg 85-19.
Brockway now has a losing record at 2-3. As for Curwensville, their loss was their tenth straight on the road dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 0-1.
Brockway beat Curwensville 56-49 when the teams last played back in February. Will Brockway repeat their success, or does Curwensville have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
