Baseball Recap: Mercer County Comes Up Short

Mercer County fell victim to Orion and their airtight pitching crew on Monday. They lost 13-0 to the Chargers. If the Golden Eagles were looking for revenge after losing 8-1 to the Chargers when the teams met back in May of 2025, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Mercer County's defeat dropped their record down to 2-5. As for Orion, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 4-4 record this season.

Mercer County will take on Princeton at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Tigers have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 9.8 runs per game on average), something the Golden Eagles will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Orion, they will head out to challenge Ridgewood [AlWood/Cambridge] at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
