Baseball Recap: Eldorado Takes a Loss

Eldorado was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They came up short against the Goreville Blackcats, falling 11-1. The Eagles were not able to make up for their defeat to the Blackcats from their previous meeting back in May of 2025.

Eldorado saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Cale Anderson, who went 1-for-2 with one run and one double. That double was Anderson's first of the season.

Eldorado's loss dropped their record down to 5-17. As for Goreville, they pushed their record up to 20-3 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home.

Looking ahead, Eldorado will host Vienna at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Eldorado's pitchers better be ready for this one: Vienna has averaged an impressive 6.2 runs per game this season. As for Goreville, they are taking a road trip to take on DuQuoin at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Blackcats will need to watch out since the Indians have now posted at least ten runs in their last three games.
