Softball Recap: Blue River Drops Highest Score of Season Against Fillmore Central

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Blue River). Everything went their way against the Fillmore Central Panthers on Monday as they made off with a 15-4 win. With that victory, Blue River brought their scoring average up to 6.5 runs per game.

Danica Watts was incredible, going 2-for-3 with three runs, one triple, and one stolen base. That's the most runs she has posted since back in August. Shelbea Reed was another key player, going a perfect 1-for-1 with two runs, two RBI, and one double.

Blue River always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .679. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Blue River pushed their record up to 12-5 with the win, which was their third straight at home. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.0 runs on average over those games. As for Fillmore Central, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-14.

Looking ahead, Blue River will venture away from home to face off against Wilber-Clatonia at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Fillmore Central, they will host Central City at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Panthers will need to watch out since the Bison have now posted at least ten runs in their last three matches.
