Basketball Recap: South Allegheny Takes a Loss

South Allegheny lost against Deer Lakes back in January of 2020 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The South Allegheny Gladiators lost 54-32 to the Deer Lakes Lancers. While losing is never fun, the Gladiators can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 647th, while the Lancers are ranked 249th).

South Allegheny's loss was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 2-9. As for Deer Lakes, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a nice bump to their 11-4 record this season.

South Allegheny will face off against Greensburg Central Catholic at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Deer Lakes, they will venture away from home to take on Avonworth at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday.
