Sunnyside gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Thursday. They beat the Fowler Redcats by a goal, winning 2-1. Nevaeh Ruiz had the honor of scoring the game-winner for the Wildcats.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Sunnyside will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Yosemite at 5:00 p.m. on December 13th. As for Fowler, they will challenge Sierra Pacific at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
