Volleyball Recap: Pickens Falls Short Against Ranked River Bluff

Pickens faced River Bluff in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Saturday. The Blue Flame fell 2-0 to the Gators. The Blue Flame just can't catch a break and have now endured three losses in a row.

Kaci Gillespie paced Pickens' offense, picking up five kills. Gillespie got some help from Lily Clarkson and her nine assists.

Pickens' defeat dropped their record down to 19-4. As for River Bluff, they are on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last 11 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 18-9 record this season.

Pickens wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 2-0 win against North Myrtle Beach on the 27th. As for River Bluff, they have also already played their next match, a 2-1 loss against Cardinal Newman on the 27th.
