Baseball Recap: West Forsyth Extends Road Winning Streak to Four

West Forsyth made up a huge gap compared to their last game against South Forsyth, but they still couldn't quite topple them. The West Forsyth Wolverines never let the South Forsyth War Eagles get on the board and left with a 6-0 victory on Wednesday. Considering the Wolverines have won five matches by more than five runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.

West Forsyth got a great performance from Ryan Morgan as he didn't allow a single earned run over six innings pitched. What's more, Morgan gave up only zero earned runs, the fewest he's had since back in February.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Colton Sweat, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. That's the most hits he has posted since back in May of 2024. Charlie Delp was another key player, going 2-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and one stolen base.

West Forsyth kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. That's a new trend for them: they were averaging 5.5 hits per game earlier this season, but in their last 15 games they've averaged 9.8.

West Forsyth's win was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 9-4. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.8 runs on average over those games. As for South Forsyth, their loss dropped their record down to 8-5.

West Forsyth will have a chance to go back-to-back against South Forsyth: the pair will be back at it again later today.
