By Zack Poff Oct 4, 2023, 11:00am

St. John's looks to bounce back against WCAC rival Good Counsel in other action.

A huge Arizona showdown is the MaxPreps Game of the Week as No. 22 Chandler hosts Centennial (Peoria, Ariz.) in a matchup of undefeated teams. The Wolves have outscored their first six opponents 255-73 and are averaging 42.5 points per game. The Coyotes have outscored opponents 221-38 and are allowing 6.3 points a game.

Chandler has won the last five meetings, including a 47-27 win in the first round of the Open Division playoffs last year. Centennial has not beat the Wolves since 2010.

Two of the top teams in South Florida square off as Norland (Miami) faces Booker T. Washington (Miami) on Thursday. The Tornadoes won last year's regular season meeting but the Vikings returned the favor in the 2M playoffs with a 14-7 victory.

The Washington Catholic Athletic Conference is one of the best leagues in high school football and gets underway this week. St. John's (Washington, D.C.) hosts Good Counsel (Olney, Md.) on Saturday in a huge WCAC showdown. They have split the last 22 meetings.

No. 15 Walton (Marietta, Ga.) finished non-region play winning by an average margin of 38.8 points per game. The Raiders open up region action at North Cobb (Kennesaw, Ga.) on Friday. The Warriors have won three in a row after starting the season 0-2.

Willie Gaston has No. 7 North Shore (Houston) off to a 5-0 start during his first year as head coach. The Mustangs have won every game by at least 21 points, and an undefeated Summer Creek (Houston) squad is up Thursday. The Mustangs have won all five meetings since 2016.
