Pueblo County had won 11 straight on the road dating back to last season, but on Thursday they bumped up to 4-1 to make it 12. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Pueblo Centennial Bulldogs, sneaking past 3-1. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Hornets have posted against the Bulldogs since September 17, 2020.

Kamdyn Toussaint spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered a run (which was unearned) on four hits and racked up seven Ks. Those seven strikeouts set a new season-high mark for her.

On the hitting side, Tylee Glenn was excellent, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI. She is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games she's played. Mia Carrillo also deserves some recognition as she hit her first triple of the season.

As for Pueblo Centennial, their loss dropped their record down to 4-3. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat they have suffered against Pueblo County since September 17, 2020.

On Pueblo Centennial's side, they also let their pitcher toss all seven innings and she was also dialed-in: Ellie Zinanti gave up three earned runs on six hits and racked up nine Ks.

At the plate, Pueblo Centennial saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Chloe James, who got on base in all three of her plate appearances with one RBI.

Looking ahead, Pueblo County will host Coronado at 1:45 p.m. on Friday. The Hornets' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Cougars have averaged an impressive 7.6 runs per game this season. As for Pueblo Centennial, they are taking a road trip to challenge Lewis-Palmer at 3:30 p.m. on Friday. The Rangers have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 14.36 runs per game on average), something the Bulldogs will no doubt try to take advantage of.
